Keep the outside world disconnected from your data.

Elsi’s patented Island Technology keeps your backend physically air-gapped. A small “island” with a single drawbridge sits in between, connected to only one side at a time, and messages cross only on user intent.

  2. 2Bridge swings to backend

The island only operates on user intent, such as a button press or a tap.

What it is

An air-gapped communication “island” built into the device, which the user physically controls. It passes messages between the outside world and a protected backend without ever joining the two.

  1. 1One drawbridge

The island only connects to the outside world OR to the backend. Never to both at once.

  2. 2A backend that is never open

The backend is physically air-gapped. The island is the only way in, and nothing gets around it.

  3. 3The user is in control

Messages cross only on the user’s intent, and the island switches itself off without it.

Why it matters

One way in, and the user controls it.

The only way in

The outside world only ever talks to the island. Nothing gets around it to the backend, where keys and credentials live.

User-controlled

Nothing crosses the bridge without the user’s intent, such as a button press or a tap.

Works offline

Sensitive data can stay on the device instead of on a server or in the cloud.

Can power itself

The patented design lets the antenna harvest energy to power the device.

Proven in products

Two products from Elsi’s own portfolio show how the island works in practice.

Stash Card by Stash Password Manager
Password management

Stash Password Manager

An offline password manager. Pick an account in the app, press the button on the Stash Card and tap it to your phone. The island collects the requested password, and only that password, from the card’s vault and hands it to the phone.

“There is never a direct connection to your vault of passwords.”
Crypkey Pay crypto transaction approval device
Crypto transactions

Crypkey Pay

Island Technology applied to approving crypto transactions. A small approval device with a screen and no battery or cables. Request. Screen. Approve. You only approve what you see on your Crypkey.

See the island at work

A 78-second Stash Password Manager explainer: the island picks up the request from the phone, disconnects, connects to the vault, retrieves the requested password, then reconnects to the phone and passes it along.

“Keeps your passwords offline, and in your hands. Literally.”

What people say about Stash

“The Stash Password Manager card is one of the best things to hit the security world in decades.”
Mark McEathron, SAIC Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer for the US Department of Defence
“I can hack into Trezor and Ledger wallets and steal everything, but I cannot hack into the StashPass. It’s a brick.”
Hank the Hacker, Centurion Cyber Defence

Where Island Technology fits

Secure data storage

Keys, credentials and sensitive records kept behind the island.

Authentication & proof of personhood

Nearly everything is connected now, so controlling access matters. AI makes that harder.

Hardware wallets & transaction approval

Crypto transactions approved only on user intent.

IoT device keys

Device secrets kept off the network side.

Tap-to-phone accessories

One way in, with a tap the user controls.

Smartphones

A built-in island button, so approvals reach the air-gapped backend only on user intent.
